Imagine: Total Home Control

by Andrew Reed For Vertex Security & Technology

Remember when home automation meant having a living room light turn on at 6:00 every evening? Even with that light, those days seem like the dark ages!

Now imagine having auto-control over every system and appliance in your home, distributing data, voice (VoIP), and audio and video throughout the house, turning appliances on and off automatically, monitoring the children (and their nanny), and accessing the information you need from a central point.

A dream??? No. It’s time to turn your imagination into reality!

Most systems also used (and many still do!) a single data protocol like x10 or zwave, compatible only with itself. But the next generation of home automation products can provide an all-in-one solution for easily controlling your entire home – and they don’t require an expert technician every time you want to add a new appliance or reprogram your A/V system. They’re cheap, simple, and user-friendly, and best of all, they’re available right off the shelf!
